The goal of this database is primarily to feature work by justice-evolved individuals (i.e. someone who is formerly incarcerated and/or justice-impacted). If you are a justice-evolved individual, your work does not necessarily have to be about formerly incarcerated and/or justice-impacted people. Submissions about formerly incarcerated and/or justice-impacted individuals by author(s) who are not justice-evolved will also be considered.Â
For any submission, we will only include it in our database if it fits the following criteria:
Must not reproduce harmful and/or exploitative stereotypes and/or representations of individual(s) who are formerly incarcerated or justice-impacted. This is at our discretion, as this site is run by formerly incarcerated and justice-impacted individuals.
Must be published in a scholarly publication or intellectual work of high caliber.
Exceptions will be made at our discretion for intellectual work of high caliber including but not limited to: graduate work of high quality not published, original research done in academic supervision in prestigious research programs, research done for policy work, books or sections of books, literary magazines, conference papers and presentation, and newspaper articles or features
